Business Spotlight: Manuel “Manny” Cosme – Business Advocate of the Year

The Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize one of our longtime members and community leaders, Manuel “Manny” Cosme of Vacaville, for receiving the Business Advocate of the Year Award at this year’s California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) convention.

Manny is the President and CEO of Professional Small Business Services, Inc. (PSBS), a firm based in Vacaville, California, that provides bookkeeping, payroll, income tax preparation, consulting, and notary services. With over 25 years of experience in the financial and consulting world, Manny has dedicated his career to empowering small business owners in Vacaville, Solano County, and across California to focus on what they do best, while his team handles the numbers.

A Journey of Service and Leadership

Manny shared that his professional path was shaped by working with major companies that downsized during tough times. “That experience gave me unity with the small business community,” he reflected. “It pushed me to create something where I could help others grow and succeed.”

His commitment to community has always gone hand-in-hand with his business. Manny has served on the board of the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and later as Chair of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, where he advocated for access to resources, representation, and opportunities for Hispanic-owned businesses across the state.

“When I became President of CHCC in 2018,” he recalled, “we had to expand services, build bridges with organizations, and make sure Hispanic businesses had a strong voice at the state level. It wasn’t about me; it was about what we could achieve together for the community.”

Advocacy Recognized

The Business Advocate of the Year Award is a testament to Manny’s lifelong commitment to advancing small businesses. For him, advocacy is about more than policies — it’s about relationships and visibility. “Being a business advocate means standing up for entrepreneurs who often don’t have a seat at the table,” Manny said. “It’s making sure their stories are heard, their needs are met, and their businesses are seen as vital to California’s economy.”

Looking Ahead

As he continues to grow PSBS in Vacaville, Manny remains focused on supporting small businesses in Solano County and Northern California. He believes the future of the state’s economy depends on the resilience and creativity of its entrepreneurs.

“There are thousands of Hispanic-owned restaurants, shops, and service companies across California,” he noted. “Each one represents not only economic growth but also cultural pride. My mission is to keep opening doors for them.”
